Workshop Description Pelvic Floor & Hypopressive Low Pressure (level 1) The Garuda Method & Hyporpressive (level 2) Garuda takes its name from an Indian mythological sacred bird that can change shape according to its function. It’s inspired a more intelligent and intuitive way to exercise the body. Combining the spirituality, pranayama and asana practice of yoga, the core strength and focus of pilates and the balletic grace of dance, the Garuda method is a pursuit for a stronger, more flexible, toned body. With the benefits of a robust cardiovascular workout, Garuda exercises stretching the mind as well as the body. All classes have a definite rhythm and flow, working on mindfully increasing strength, flexibility, co-ordination, and endurance. This matwork and standing class will challenge you to a whole new level. Learn healthy load transfer strategies using toss style movements that reinforce whole-body motion, control, strength, and good cardio. MELTed Pilates on the Roller For those who love Pilates or Yoga for that matter, you will love it even more because the MELT Method will nourish the fascia to make the easiest Pilates move better and its benefits last longer, and the hardest Pilates move do-able. Hard to believe but your Pilates (Yoga too) will be more efficient, proficient and happy! For those who think Pilates is too hard or you have to be flexible already to do it, MELT training will make your body more supple and receptive so that your Pilates practice is deeper, authentic, organic and pain-free. We may add some ELDOA which is deep postural fascia stretching. MELT Performance This workshop engages you in the more advanced moves on the roller in all dimensions, front, side and sitting to make your stabilization and alignment mechanisms shake, indicating you have a new neural pathway. Again, you learn the new model of understanding the body and how to apply it in your everyday life. We may add some ELDOA which is deep postural stretching. This way your nervous system remodels itself for longevity. If you have any inhibitions or delays in your stabilizers, you will remodel them and then be able to move in the ways you love without pain, dysfunction, and worry. STOTT PILATES® Conditioning Towel Workout This simple Pilates-based routine developed by the Merrithew™ team uses the support and resistance of a Conditioning Towel to maintain form. Ideal for those who are less flexible, the towel assists in helping increase the range of motion of the joints and allows muscles to lengthen effectively. Scapular and shoulder stability are highlighted while core strength and stability are enhanced, enabling better performance in other physical activities Includes a complimentary workout towel with the exercises printed on the front. MELT Pain and Injury This workshop teaches the first level moves on the scientifically designed MELT roller to self-create all the internal health and good stuff you don't necessarily see...creating collagen and elastin, hydrating your connective cells through gentle massage and changing the pressure on the diaphragm, nourishing the fascia, creating true joint stability for feel-good results that last. Yes, you learn new info about your body based on the new, evidenced-based neuro-fascial science. And you can trust the feeling and sense in your body first and foremost. STOTT PILATES® Matwork with Ankle Tubing Designed to enhance body awareness, muscular strength, motor control, and joint mobility, this workshop takes a fresh look at creating flowing sequences with STOTT PILATES® Matwork exercises using ankle tubing. Developed by the movement experts at Merrithew™, learn how to creatively incorporate elastic resistance into a series of Essential and Intermediate exercises. A Simple Space
Witness seven acrobats pushed to their physical limits without reserve in a disarmingly intimate setting. Propelled by the driving sound of live percussion, this performance is simultaneously raw, frantic, and delicate. You’ll feel the heat, hear every breath, and be immersed in every moment. Without the need for contrived theatrical overlay, A Simple Space evokes a visceral response. You are pulled in close to a stripped-down stage where the performers are encouraged to let down their guard and share the reality of failure and weakness. With nothing left to hide behind, the personal narratives come through naturally. This honesty is the essence behind A Simple Space.
On Stage Seating
Strathmore Stars and Circles members have the exclusive opportunity to purchase on stage seats for this special performance. Your ticket includes admission to a VIP reception.
PURCHASE WITH CONFIDENCE
Our long-held ticket exchange policy preserves your flexibility so you can always purchase with confidence. In addition, patrons will be entitled to a full refund if Strathmore is unable to hold an event as scheduled.
