We welcome diversity and autistic adults of all levels of independent living to join us in building new friendships, expanding social skills, and growing support systems with similar experienced individuals.
For our first meeting we will be explaining the difference between a "peer group" and a "clinical group" and introducing our facilitators, Ari and John. Next, we will be getting to know each other and working to brainstorm the group's vision for this group!
Group Guidelines:
-We are a "judgement free zone"
-Not About Me Without Me (Confidentiality)
-We use the "topic" stick to talk
-You are encouraged to take a break when needed
-We respect facilitators, one another, and ourselves
-All communication guidelines are welcome
-We avoid talking about vaccines
-Feedback on group is welcomed at end of each group
Support people are traditionally invited to wait together in space outside of the group, however, attendees may invite support person into group if it will ease the attendee's group experience.
Please reach out if you have any special accommodations. All diverse needs of accommodations welcome. Making our group accessible for all needs is very important to us.
