Everything starts at 7:00PM but folks arrive between 6:15 and 7:00 for coffee. We are a very relaxed setting and everyone should feel welcome. Jeans and t-shirts are normal attire.

TEDxKingstonUponThames is back for 2020 with another full day of talks at the Rose Theatre in Kingston Upon Thames.
Our theme for 2020 is 'Cut Through The Noise'.
12 talks plus performances.
Avant-garde composer John Cage’s renowned 1952 work 4’33”, formed entirely of silence, challenges our assumptions on the differences between sound and noise.
In a distracted, relentless and cluttered world TEDxKingstonUponThames explores how we determine what is noise and what is truth, what is real and meaningful versus the illusory and negative. Without authenticity, can we truthfully participate, empathise and engage with others?
Talks include, a record breaking transatlantic adventure, a commercial pilot discussing human error, a dinner with Vladimir Putin, a student in the room with Google demanding change and a University Challenge star talking about the 'magic of numbers'.
Great storytelling enables us to ‘Cut Through The Noise’, connect with others and bridge differences. TEDx is a global programme of independently organised events based on the world-famous TED Talks model.
Through a day-long event of live talks and performances, TEDxKingstonUponThames – entirely not-for-profit and organised by volunteers – strives to bring our community together with unique stories, opinions and experiences to spark meaningful discussion.

Speakers and talks are subject to change. Timings are also subject to change however this is a full day event.

The UBS Arena regular Box Office hours are yet to be announced. In addition to the regular hours, the Box Office will also open 3 hours prior to the start of events.
Accessible seating is available on all levels and in all ticket price ranges. Wheelchair accessible and companion seating and seats with removeable armrests are available at locations dispersed throughout UBS Arena. Two guest elevators are located in each quad of the arena with access to every level. Accessible doors are at each entrance as well as a limited number of wheelchairs to transport guests with limited mobility to their seating area. Facilities: Wheelchair Access: The Sir Howard Morrison Centre offers wheelchair access and mobility parking. Sir Owen Glenn Theatre | Matangi Rau: 6 allocated wheelchair spaces (Rows T & U). The entrance to the stalls is level with the foyer, and the circle is accessible via stairs or a lift. Te Haumako | Black Box Theatre: 4 wheelchair spaces available depending on room configuration. The entrance is level with the foyer. Wheelchair Accessible Toilets: Located on the ground floor. Drive-Through Drop Off: Available at the front of the building with ramped access. Hearing Assistance: Infrared hearing and Wavecast Wi-Fi 5G assistance are available in Sir Owen Glenn Theatre | Matangi Rau and Te Haumako | Black Box Theatre. Wavecast Wi-Fi 5G is available in Te Haumihi | Foyer. Download the Wavecast app from the Apple or Google Play store. Guide Dogs: Licensed hearing and guide dogs are welcome. Please inform us in advance if you are bringing a guide dog.
