Holiday Gift Collective brings together seven East Bay female artisans in Lafayette, CA San Francisco, CA – With a global pandemic and wave of fires, many small businesses have shuttered under the conditions, while others have united in finding new ways to sustain themselves and support their local communities through their crafts. Contra Costa County recently moved into Tier 2, allowing for the return of indoor retail shopping under state guidelines. The artisans and women behind Holiday Gift Collective are thrilled at the opportunity to safely showcase their goods and boost their local economy just in time for the holidays. The idea for Holiday Gift Collective was born from the shared values of each of the participating artisans as well as from the #shoplocal movement which encourages people to invest in their communities with the goal of strengthening the economy. Holiday Gift Collective is a union in support of community and equality, and will offer home goods, jewelry, gourmet foods, and more. In addition to continuing to pave the path for aspiring female entrepreneurs, Holiday Gift Collective hopes to encourage the community to work together in the fight against climate change. Brands such as Planet Renu, SIP, and Hofssi Chocolates will be presenting a variety of eco-friendly and ethically sourced products. Joining the list of green businesses will be Hollie's Homegrown, a local organic herb farm on a mission to create the highest quality herbal food and body products. All together, they will provide Holiday Gift Collective customers with unique and special gift options that reduce our carbon-footprint. The Gótico Tapas Tour takes you through Barcelona’s famous Gothic Quarter, in the Ciutat Vella (old city) – past Roman walls, alongside cathedrals, through precious plazas and, most importantly, in-and-out of small local restaurants that will leave you sated, jolly, and with a better understanding of local Catalan and national Spanish cuisine.  Gótico was our first tour, is our first love, and remains a great traditional option in Barcelona’s most historic setting.  First time in Barcelona?  This is the one for you!  The low-down on our Barcelona tapas tour This is not a historical walking tour with a snack at the end. Our 3 hour tour stops in 3 small food establishments, ranging from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste. Your knowledgeable guide will safely lead you, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience. Our tour groups are typically no larger than 6; meaning we can discreetly visit venues loved by locals and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. Indeed, by the end of the night we usually feel we’ve made lifelong friends!

Indian Fish and Seafood Cookery Course

We meet at Hounslow West tube at 10.30 am and visit the local Indian shop to learn about specialist ingredients. With over 4000 miles of coastline and hundreds of rivers, Indian fish and seafood cookery is varied and delicious.  Indian home recipes for fish curries are subtle and delicious with regional variations that include coconut, tamarind, chillies, mustard and a variety of spices. In this hands on class, you will learn how to prepare and cook fish and seafood expertly and make tamarind pulp and spice pastes that enhance and lift the flavour of the main ingredient. Typical recipes- Prawn Pulao (Spiced rice with prawns), Bhujane (Maharashtrian fish curry with garlic and tamarind), Kerala Fish Curry with coconut and tomato, Patrani Macchi  (Parsi style fish parcels cooked in a green coriander and mint chutney), Mashyachi Amti (coastal fish curry with coconut), Crisp garlic and chilli prawns.  Please let us know of any food allergies/intolerances FAQs   Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
