Healing the Blues : An Arts Happening in 3 Levels
On October 20th, we are hosting an art experience and tasting with Puravegan Cafe. Experience the place based healing station and enjoy the ambiance. There will be meditative sounds and the arts installation. On October 21st, we are meeting at the Mary Meachum Crossing to erect a place based fiber installation. Throughout the day on October 21st, stop by the Pura Vegan Yoga Studio for the Opening Healing Station. Healing the Blues is a multdimensional attempt at tackling the "Winter Blues." The term "winter blues" is known as seasonal affective disorder. It is strongly studied in the mental health profession and is commonly discussed in the public, community and family culture. The American "Blues" culture in music is rooted in the Delta of the Mississippi. The Mississippi River is the connector of Saint Louis and the rest of the American South. What would happen if we sent the healing intention to the river, across the river and down the river?

Course goals This course is an introduction to automated testing and is suitable for beginners. It is held in Czech. Should you be interested in an advanced level, please see this course. What is automated testing and when should it be used? What are the advantages and disadvantages? Is automatic testing suitable for your project? Test automation has been with us for more than 30 years. However, in the last few years there has been quite a rapid development in this area. Test automation has finally become a full part of today’s testing discipline. Within this one-day course we will explain to you basic principles of test automation, why we need it, and it’s pros and cons in order to help you decide when and how to introduce it on your project. In the second, practical part of the training, we will show you how to write and execute automated tests using Robot Framework without needing to know anything about programming. We will focus on the Selenium2Library, which allows us to test both web sites and web applications, how to identify page elements using xpath and how to interact with them. We will also show you also some other aspects of tool. For example, we will look at automatically generated reports and logs and how to use them to eliminate errors in our scripts, the use of variables and their priorities will be discussed as well. During the training you will perform a number of interactive exercises so you can gain real hands-on experience. The Robot Framework is a generic test automation framework for acceptance testing and acceptance test-driven development (ATDD). It has easy-to-use tabular test data syntax and it utilizes the keyword-driven testing approach. Its testing capabilities can be extended by test libraries implemented either with Python or Java, and users can create new higher-level keywords from existing ones using the same syntax that is used for creating test cases. The Christmas/Holiday Season is a joyous time of the year. We celebrate with our families and friends sharing our love, providing hope, singing songs, and giving gifts. We have specially prepared holiday meals and delicious desserts. But for many people, holidays are a time full of stress, maybe only a wish and not a reality when you cannot afford the Food for the special Christmas Dinner. And this year, many people are being challenged because of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID19). It is causing long-term problems, as we are currently in the second wave of the COVID19. Due to the large increase of COVID-19 cases, with many people in the hospital, some social distancing restrictions include limiting travel and not attending large gatherings even in your own residence. In fact, many are faced with paying rent, the National Grid bill, or putting food on the table. We, as a community, are working together to fight hunger and food insecurity. Thanks to the Mohawk Valley COVID-19 Respond Fund created by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and the United Way of the Mohawk Valley, established a single community-wide fund. The Johnson Park Center (JPC) received COVID-19 Respond Fund Grant Awards to provide food to the community. With the generous support from the Food Bank of Central New York (FBCNY) and Donors, JPC will have a Drive-Thru Food Giveaway for disadvantaged individuals and families around JPC Sites Rain-Snow or Shine on Monday, December 15, 2020, from 2 pm to 7:30 pm. Starting on the corner of Arthur and West Streets, cars/vehicles will line up at the registration station where JPC Intake Persons, wearing face masks, will assist you with completing the Intake Form. They will place the number of households represented in each car on its windshield. Then you will drive up to each Food station, where volunteers will put the food in your car/vehicle. If you do not have a car/vehicle, please come to the Walkers Food Giveaway Rain-Snow or Shine on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, between 3 pm to 6 pm at JPC Food Pantry 1404 West Street, Utica, New York 13501 A tractor-trailer full of food will be available to be given to the community. Food items may include chicken, fish, eggs, cheese, fresh produce, fresh fruit, rice, pasta, cereal, canned items such as soup, beans, etc. During these challenging times of the pandemic, by fighting hunger and food insecurity, the JPC Food Giveaway helps families & individuals to have food for Christmas, be food secured, and a stepping stone to self-sufficiency. Please join us as we need additional sponsors, donors, volunteers, and media to make long-term commitments to fight hunger and food insecurity. To all who made investments and partnered with JPC this year, you are amazing. JPC is so grateful and appreciative of your dedication to serving families, children, and single individuals in need.
