Full Day South Indian Vegetarian Cookery Course

We meet at Hounslow West tube station at 10.30am and begin with a brief shopping trip to the local Indian shop to learn how to select specialist ingredients. We will then recreate a full South Indian feast in this unique, hands on course, where you will use ingredients such as tamarind, coconut, curry leaves and a variety of spices that make the food of this region so fresh and delicious. We will cook foods from several southern states such as Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Karnataka. Typical recipes- Lemon Rice with nuts, Sambhar lentils, Sambhar powder spice blend,  Green beans with coconut and urid lentils, Thayir Vadai (Crisp lentil fritters in a velvety spiced yoghurt sauce), Bagare Baingan (Aubergines cooked in a toasted sesame and tamarind curry), Cabbage thoran (cabbage cooked mustard seeds and coconut), Ginger Raita   FAQs   Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? The course is open to 18 year olds and above.   What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Hounslow West is 25 minutes away from Central London on the Piccadilly Line. There is free car parking in the Hounslow West staion car park.   What can/can't I bring to the event? No unfortunately not, as we will be taking into account any food allergies/intolerances of all the participants.   Can I update my registration information? Class begins with infant and child accident prevention. If you're a parent, grandparent, or caregiver/nanny, baby proofing tips are essential. We always teach how to properly call the 911 system and we will advise you of what phone numbers to have in emergencies as well as what to have in your first aid kit. Then we teach Infant/Child/Adult CPR and choking. You will receive hands on practice on our state of the art mannequins. Finally, you will learn common first aid emergencies.     You can also receive a 2 year AHA Heartsaver CPR with AED certification. Learn CPR for Infant/Child/Adult along with how to use an Automated External Defibrillator and a pocket mask. The certification is suggested for caregivers, daycare providers, school teachers, gym teachers, camp counselors, life guards, coast guards, gym fitness instructors or personal trainers.   Cancellation Policy   CPR and First-aid classes are non-refundable within 7 days of class. Parenting our Children - Session 5 REWIRING

Parenting our Children is Adoption UK's therapeutic parenting programme that supports adoptive parents, foster and kinship carers in understanding developmental trauma and parenting care experienced children. It is suitable for parents and carers at any stage of their parenting journey. This is the fifth work shop of 6 and focusses particularly on parenting approaches. We will discuss the interpretation of behaviour and developing parenting approaches.   This work shop is free to adoptive parents and foster/kinship carers who reside in Western Edinburgh, that is the DRUM BRAE, GYLE, CORSTORPHINE  and MURRAYFIELD areas due to funding from Edinburgh City Council's Western Edinburgh Neighbourhood Partnership. Tickets for parents/carers outwith these areas are £10 for members of Adoption UK and £15 for non members.
