Continuing our programme of outreach to the museum’s international and foreign language speaking visitors, we are pleased to offer a series of free tours aimed at native speakers and students of Spanish, Italian, and Mandarin Chinese.
The tours will encompass all of our galleries and highlight some of the most outstanding objects in our varied collections, from Jurassic fossils and endangered reptiles & amphibians.

The 45th annual Edgar Rohr Memorial Car Meet will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 on the lawn of the Manassas Museum, 9101 Prince William St., in the center of historic Manassas, Virginia. Spectator hours are 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM (car registration is from 8 AM to 11 AM). Free spectator admission and garage parking across the street. Antique vehicles and street rods. Thirty-six"class" awards and 14 special awards. There will also be an antique car parts flea market, car corral, 50-50 raffle, silent auction, door prizes (for participants) and Model T Ford assembly demonstrations. Over 150 vehicles are expected; dash plaques go to first 175 vehicles registered. Old Town Manassas shopping and the farmer's market take place within 2 blocks of the show. This event will take place at the Church Health Center - 1350 Concourse Ave Ste 142, Memphis, TN 38104. The shifts will be 10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Join our friendly workshop and learn how to use power drills safely and create your own coat rack to take home!
We will train you even if you've never held a hammer, or don't know your lug nuts from your wall plugs. Our workshop will give you the know-how and the confidence to tackle basic DIY jobs around your own home.
Not only will you get hands-on experience, you will also receive valuable insight into the various accessories and attachments that can be used, as well as offering tips, tricks and techniques for using power tools and woodworking methods.
You will learn:
How to stay safe when attempting DIY projects
How to use various cordless drills/drivers.
Know how to select the correct drill bits, wall fixings and screws for plasterboard and brick walls
How to use a spirit level to ensure straight fixings
How to affix salvaged items for hooks
While honing your skills you will create your very own Vintage Coat Rack to take home complete with hand-outs.
This is a great day out with loads of fun, a chance to meet new people and learn a new skill - result!
