The Commonwealth Africa Summit is a high level, multi-stakeholder event that annually brings together government and business leaders from the Commonwealth and allies to facilitate dialogue and action on key and relevant issues ranging from trade and investment, entrepreneurship and job creation, economic development, Security and counterterrorism, Energy and Power amongst other relevant issues in Africa.
The event, usually hosted in the past as part of activities to celebrate the Commonwealth Week in London, is organised by the Commonwealth Africa Initiative and GLEEHD Foundation, to provide a veritable platform for the generation of new ideas, trade agreements, business relationships and investments.
The Summit convenes Heads of Government, senior ministers, public sector leaders, the private sector and senior executives in one place to discuss security and development, trade and investment, and business opportunities.
The summit is recognized by Governments and business leaders as one of the most important events for the international investment community, providing commonwealth nations from Africa a high-level platform to showcase investment opportunities and interact with global leaders, senior policymakers, corporate executives, investors, African leaders in Diaspora, and civil society leaders from across the world.
The summit further engages political leaders in concrete and constructive dialogues, where parties hold each other accountable in the quest for economic development and collective growth. Opportunities are also offered to the private sector to meet political leaders and policy makers from other part of Africa and the Commonwealth. The Summit provides a unique opportunity for companies in Africa and other Commonwealth countries to network and exchange views on intra-Commonwealth business relations.
