The Royal AustralianNavy'sflagship, the Canberra class amphibious assault ship, HMAS Canberra (III), will be visiting Hobart, Tasmania.
While in Hobart the ship's company will hold an Open Day on Saturday, 14 September 2019 with the public welcome to come aboard and tour one of the largest ships to serve in the Royal Australian Navy fleet.
Free tickets will be available from 7:00am (AEST) on Saturday, 7 September 2019.

Set Entry Times
The tickets will allow for entry over specified hourly entry blocks. The first tour will begin at 10:00am with last tour of the day happening at 2:30pm. This is for entry only, there is no specified exit time. However, visitors will be required to depart the venue by no later than 3:00pm.
All tickets must either be printed out, displayed as an e-ticket using the free Eventbrite iOS/Android App for mobile devices.
Multiple tickets may be ordered and issued to a single ticketholder. For security reasons, the ticketholder must attend in order to facilitate access to the event. The ticketholder must present photo identification which matches the name on the tickets to staff at the gate.
Visitors, particularly children, without photo identification must be accompanied by the ticketholder who can vouch for their identity. Every person attending, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
There is no ticket waitlist for this open day.
Transport and Parking
There is limited event parking nearby so the use of public transport is strongly recommended.
100% bag checks will be conducted in accordance with standard procedure for any public event. This is to ensure that no prohibited items are brought aboard. Prohibited items include weapons, glass and alcohol.
Food, Beverages and Merchandise
Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Visitors are advised to hydrate before stepping aboard. Please do not consume any food on the ship.
HMAS Canberra merchandise will be available for purchase. All transactions are cash only.
Toilet facilities are available in the cruise ship terminal building.
Children and Prams/Strollers
There are no age restrictions for this event. However, minors must remain under the supervision of a responsible person at all times particularly to assist them while climbing/descending ladders and stairs during the tour.
Prams are not permitted aboard the ship, however, space will be available for the parking of prams prior to the tour. Please do not leave any valuable items with parked prams.
Footwear and Clothing
All visitors are required to wear enclosed shoes such as flat shoes or comfortable walking shoes. High heels are not permitted as there are trip hazards aboard the ship. The tour of HMAS Canberra includes climbing and descending stairs and ladders and visitors should dress accordingly.
Mobility and Wheelchair Access
Visitors should have a reasonable level of fitness and mobility as they will be required to climb ladders and stairs to access areas of the ship. Unfortunately, due to warship design, wheelchair or other mobility support access is not possible.
Photography is permitted. All camera equipment must be carried by hand and not carried in a bag. Visitor's may be asked to refrain from taking photographs in certain areas of the ship.
HMAS Canberra will be contesting rugby union matches against a local Hobart team on Saturday, 14 September.
The women’s match will be a 7's format and is scheduled to kick off at 2:30pm. The men’s match will be a 15's format with kick off at 3:00pm. The games will be contested at Newtown Rugby Park, only a short distance from the ship and will be hosted by TAS Rugby.
A BBQ and drinks will be served during and after the game.

Are there ID requirements?
Yes. All ticketholders are to present photo identification upon entry to the open day. If available, it is recommended that all attendees bring their photo identification.
I haven't received my ticket order email. What can I do?
All ticket orders are sent to the email address used when you created your Eventbrite account. If you can not find an email in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder in case your email security settings has filtered the ticket email to that location. If you still can not find the ticket order email, please use the 'Contact organiser' option in Eventbrite and we will endeavour to locate your ticket order.
Is my ticket transferrable?
For security reasons, tickets can not be used by another person if the ticketholder is unable to attend. Prior to attending the event, tickets may be transferred to another ticketholder. Please use the 'Contact organiser' option in Eventbrite to advise the first name, surname and email of the new ticketholder.
How do I cancel my tickets if I am unable to attend?
Due to the high level of public interest in obtaining tickets to attend the open day, if you and your guests are unable to attend the open day please log into your Eventbrite account (the account you created to order the tickets) and cancel your ticket order. This will make your tickets available to someone else.
