A consortium of nineteen economic development and community organizations will be hosting a Chicago Mayoral Forum “Where Do We Go From Here: Collaborating for Tomorrow’s South Side”. The Forum will be devoted to the topics of economic development, housing, public safety, and education. These topics will allow each candidate to highlight ideas and plans for the City and will expect the candidates to emphasize the future of the southside. The Candidates Forum will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Coppin Memorial AME Church at 5627 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60637. The Forum will be moderated by Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun-Times. Doors open at 9:15 am and the Forum will be held from 10 am to 12 pm.
The Organizing Team includes; the Washington Park Chamber of Commerce, the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, the Woodlawn Chamber of Commerce, the South East Chicago Commission (SECC), the 51st Street Business Association, the Neighborhood Network Alliance, Coppin AME Church, and Dearborn Realist Board. The Participating Organizations include; Greater Chatham Initiative, South East Chicago Chamber of Commerce, South Shore Works, LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois, The Neighborhood Housing Network Alliance, Annie B.
