Prerequisite: Minimum, Level 3 Reflexology Diploma or equivalent
Details: Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is a ground breaking and multi-award winning technique, which can be used to help reduce lymphoedema after treatment for breast cancer. RLD is also useful for clients with other (non-cancer related) more common conditions.
The aim is to stimulate the function of the lymphatic system and drain excess lymph from the damaged area, using a unique sequence. The course teaches specific reflexology techniques for lymphatic drainage via the feet.
Day 1 focuses primarily on reducing secondary lymphoedema, a swelling in the arm following treatment for breast cancer. You will learn how to measure the fluid volume of the arm before and after draining of the excess lymph via reflexology.
Day 2 is about using RLD with other inflammatory conditions, auto-immune disorders and lymphoedema in the lower limbs.
This is an evidence based course that includes the results from the existing research. You will learn how to conduct a case study or series, using arm volume measurements as the primary outcome measure and a method of collecting and analysing additional subjective data.

Will I receive a Certificate of Attendance for this course?
Each weekend course totals a minimum of 12 hours of study time. You will only receive your certificate of attendance on completion of the full 12 hours.
For courses that include 24 hours of study time you will receive your certificate of attendance on completion of the full allotted 24 hours.
Will I receive CPD points or credits for this course?
This will vary depending on the professional body or association(s) to which you belong. Some, for example the FHT or CNCH place the responsibility on each individual member to decide what their own personal professional development needs are; and place and hourly or point valued system based on the nature of each activity rather than the provider. Some, for example the AoR or CThA each have their own rationale for accepting CPD training hours only when done only with their accredited providers. You will need to check the CPD policy of each of the organisations of which you are a member to know if this course will count towards your CPD.
Who is the awarding body for this course?
This certificate is awarded by Sally Kay in conjunction with The Christie ITTU
