Course Content:
This course will look at Froebelian principles and how they relate to policy and practice today. We will look briefly at Froebel’s historic heritage, the role of play and creativity in learning, equality, outdoor play, symbolic representation – including block play - and the importance of family and community. There will also be a practical element to the course which will explore experiences such as baking and gardening from a Froebelian perspective.
Expected Outcomes:
Participants will have a basic knowledge of Froebelian principles and practice and may be inspired to pursue further study of Froebel.
