Utica, NY. Johnson Park Center (JPC) is honored and happy to share the good news that the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties pledged $5,000 and will host the web site to accept your donations to feed people in need. Additionally, Capraro Technologies, Inc. (CTI) offering to match up to $10,000 to ensure that food will be available to the less fortunate at the JPC Food Pantry in 2021. Also, for every donation you make, you will receive a $20.00 coupon good for purchases of $40.00 or more of food either in the restaurant or takeout at the Aqua Vino restaurant. Coupons are good until 1 March 1, 2021.
The JPC Food Pantry served 1,374,615 million meals in 2020 versus 265,725 meals in 2019. To continue to meet the demand in 2021, we need your support to fill bags with food for families and single individuals struggling during the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19). Feeding America list that each third child in New York experiences Food Insecurity, which may harm their health.
The Food Bank of Central New York reports that 63% of client households with seniors report making choices between paying for food and paying for medicine/medical care. 88% of clients agreed that receiving food at emergency,food agencies helped them get the food they could not receive any other way.

What is Youth Mental Health First Aid?
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an youth to young adult (age 4-25) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, select interventions, and provide initial help, and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
You will learn...
Risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, ADHD, disruptive behavior disorders, and substance use disorder.
Participants learn a core five-step action plan to support adolescents developing signs and symptoms of mental illness or in an emotional crisis.
