Welcome to the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster
The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is a unique, family-friendly thrill ride that puts you in the driver’s seat, literally! The single or double rider carts can zip down the mountain at max speeds of 35 mph (you control your speed with the handbrake). Experience the Smoky Mountains in a way like you've never done before!
Who Can Ride?
The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is fun for everyone. Children must be at least 3 years old, meet the minimum height requirement of 38″ tall and ride with an adult. No special skills are required. Bring the entire family and discover the Great Smoky Mountains in a whole new way. Riders can enjoy the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster alone (must be at least 56” tall) or with a friend who is at least 16 years of age with valid ID. Each coaster car is built for single or double riders and is equipped with safety harnesses and lap belts.
How Do I Get To The Top?
No Uphill Walking Required! Instead, our uphill lift system will carry you to the top, just sit back and enjoy the view. Then, once you reach the top, away you go down the mountain in your coaster car (single or double) with individual speed controls that let you set your speed. The track carries you up and over the forest floor with lots of twists, curves, and surprises. Remember, the coaster is silent, but you don’t have to be!
When To Ride?
Ride the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster during the day and then come back at night for an after-dark experience! We are open year-round, rain, snow and shine!
