What are they?Parents' Information Evenings introduce parents to nursery life and are a great opportunity to meet the Dicky Birds team and ask lots of questions! Who should come along?Parents thinking about joining, waiting to join, who are very new to Dicky Birds OR who have 2nd/3rd chicks joining the nest! Parents are welcome to bring along friends and relatives. When do they take place?:On various evenings throughout the year at 7:30pm to 9:30pm - for dates see below for details. Where do they take place?:At either our Claremont Hall and Brighton Road nurseries in Surbiton or our Dundonald Road nursery in Wimbledon. Can we bring our little chicks with us?Not this time. This is a grown-ups only event so no little chicks in pyjamas please. Should I only go to the events held at the nursery I wish my chick to join?It doesn’t matter which one of the nurseries you may want your little one to join - you are welcome to come along to any of our Information evenings! Manchester Mental Health Choir

Our new term will begin on Wednesday 4th September, 2019. Choir will run every Wednesday apart from half term, Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks. Choir rehearsal venues may be subject to change but will always be in a Central Manchester location. If you are currently or have previously experienced mental health challenges or if you’ve supported a loved one through mental health challenges and you love singing then this is the choir for you!Bee Vocal is first and foremost a choir but we have purposefully created a safe, non-judgemental space where you can be surrounded by people who know what your facing without any questions asked. We’re back from summer break on Wednesday 4th September and we meet every Wednesday during term time. Doors open each Wednesday at 6:30pm with singing from 7pm until 8:30pm. The Manchester Mental Health Choir meets every Wednesday during term time. Each choir rehearsal is led by Musical Director Dan McDwyer. Dan is an established vocal coach, conductor and arranger currently holding position of Musical Director of several choirs including the Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus, Pendleton Contemporary choir, Manchester City Council choir and Deloitte staff choir. Dan has previously been Musical Director of Francis House Staff Choir and Parrswood Harmony choir who were featured on One Love Manchester. He has conducted choirs at most major stadiums and arenas across the UK, Working with choirs for Blue Peter and BBC Children in Need. His choirs and arrangements have featured with artists including Ariana Grande, Katherine Jenkins, Kerry Ellis, The Script and many others. Dan will be supported by Elaine Craig Graduate Psychologist and Ged Mulherin one of TripleC’s Workshop Leaders. Our aim is to create a safe, fun and non-judgmental environment for you to make new friends, share experiences and join together as one voice. Dan McDwyer is just the man to build your singing confidence.  Psychology studies show us choirs have a positive impact on mental wellbeing. The new friendships remind people they are valued and belong. Singing relieves symptoms of anxiety and depression and group singing releases chemicals that make you feel happier. Camp Congress for Girls Chicago 2020

Camp Congress for Girls Chicago 2020 is a leadership program that introduces girls ages 8 to 17 to politics. Camp begins with a lesson on the structure of our political system. Each girl will choose to run for a seat in the US House of Representatives, the US Senate or for the presidency. She will create her own campaign with a platform, campaign finance plan and a political ad. All campers will register to vote and then vote in an election. Once elected to Congress and sworn in, the newly installed members of Congress will learn how to introduce a bill, debate the merits of the bill, lobby fellow legislators, collaborate with the Executive branch and finally vote on the proposed bill. Camp will culminate with a ceremonial signing of the bill by our Ms. President. All participants will receive Certificate of Completion. Answers to frequently asked questions. Is the registration fee refundable? The registration fee is non-refundable unless the organizer cancels the session. If a participant is unable to attend a session a credit will be placed on file that may be used at any time for a future program. The credit does not expire. Is lunch provided? Lunch is provided as are snacks. Snacks include fresh apples, bananas and granola bars. Water will be served with lunch and available throughout the day. No sodas or juice will be served. Breakfast is not served. Are accommodations made for allergies or dietary restrictions? A vegetarian lunch option will be provided, no pork will be served. No nuts are allowed in the meeting room. Participants with other dietary restrictions or allergies should bring lunch and snacks if necessary. What is the dress code? Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. Each participant will receive a GIP logo t-shirt that may be worn during the session. We carry sizes youth medium through adult medium. Do parents attend? The sessions are drop-off sessions and parents/chaperones are welcome to wait in hotel lobby or any of the lounge areas of the hotel. Is this a partisan program or supported by a political party? No, the Girls in Politics Initiative is a private independent company that is self-funded through the fees generated from hosting sessions.
