Chimneys & Tunnels Along the Thames: Greenwich & Isle of Dogs guided walk

This occasional guided walk explores the tubular infrastructure and industrial history of Greenwich and the Isle of Dogs. We start by speeding across the Thames by Clipper from Greenwich Pier to Masthouse Terrace Quay. From there it's a 3 and a half mile 'dot-to-dot' walk as we link together the chimneys above our heads, sometimes tracing the routes of tunnels. We seek out their stories of power, pollution and danger.  The walk gives an insight into the many layers of history that make up Greenwich, through stories about past and present chimneys and tunnels. Tour goers will: cross the Thames by Clipper boat and return beneath it through the atmospheric Greenwich Foot Tunnel. explore riverside Greenwich and the Isle of Dogs with its spectacular views of the Royal Naval College, and pass through Greenwich Park and the Queen’s House. learn about the area’s industrial history, the largest ship on earth, the early railways, London’s smoky smelly past and its tubular infrastructure. find out about hidden tunnels, unmarked chimneys, eighteenth century mass-hysteria and other seldom-told stories. hear how the powerful – from pier owners to the Astronomers Royal – have influenced the area’s development. Note to budding steeplejacks and subterranean explorers: leave your harnesses, torches and hard hats at home! Apart from the descent into one tunnel, we'll keep our feet firmly on ground level as we let our minds wander above and below. The walk starts promptly from Greenwich Pier ticket office. You will need to arrive a few minutes early to buy a Thames Clipper single ticket to Masthouse Terrace. The ticket office queue can move slowly. Alternatively, you can pay for the river crossing with an Oyster card or contactles payment card. The tour price includes a smoky snack. It does not include the cost of the Thames Clipper river crossing.  The walk is suitable for adults and over 16s. It involves going up and down stairs and crossing roads. PUP CULTURE: A Dog Adoption Drive and Pet Fashion Show for the Benefit of Pawssion Project Foundation

We are happy to invite you to be a part of the first ever PUP CULTURE: A DOG ADOPTION DRIVE AND PET FASHION SHOW, which will be held on February 1, 2020 at Damsel Cubao, No. 10 Orestes Lane Brgy. Bagong Lipunan Crame, Quezon City, Metro Manila, 1111 Philippines. This fund-raising event is spearheaded by Gowns for Rent Manila by Damsel for the benefit of Pawssion Project Foundation, Inc., a private animal-welfare volunteer organization aiming to rescue dogs in deathrow and thereafter find forever homes to the rescued animals, among others. This UNIQUE event will showcase a mini-pet fair from 10am to 6pm featuring different event and pet suppliers. On the spot FREE vet check-up and consultation, responsible-pet-ownership talk, games, as well as pet and owner photoshoots can also be enjoyed by the attendees of the event.  To cap the event, a pet fashion show will feature Damsel’s collections of “PUP COUTURE,” to culminate the launching of the first ever pet rental and on-line couture shop in the Philippines featuring designer-made attires and accessories for pets. Business Referral Group Membership application The American Club of Madrid means business!   Our new Business Referral Group is your way to build your business by sharing business leads with other club members. As we begin this new group, we have created the following set of expectations.....and as always with someting new, we encourage your comments and questions!   Leads Group member:Must be an ACM paying member Must apply Fill out Leads Group application One person per industry. This can be classified by specialty i.e.  Real Estate agent who focuses on Residential vs Real Estate agent focused on Commercial  Lead group member can only represent one business so if there are situations where a single person represent s various products and services then that person will need to decide what is their primary business Overlapping this needs to be decided. Early sign up to Leads Group is motivation to secure spot. The decision to allow the person to join group will be the Lead Group member impacted. Wait list for members interested that are already being represented in Group, once a member is dropped members from wait list are contacted. A second Lead group can be created if there is enough interest!
