Von ihrer ersten LP ‚Are You In or Out? (2009) über ihre aktuellen Platte ‚Casual Acquaintances‘ (2018) haben The Growlers sich mit ihrem ganz eigenen Style Beach Goth ihren verworrenen Pfad in die globale Musikszene gewunden. Die Zeiten, in denen The Growlers nur in der Underground-Szene Erfolge feierten, sind also längst vorbei.
Mithilfe von The Strokes-Frontmann Julian Casablancas, der bei ihrem Album „City Club“ (2016) als Produzent mitwirkte, erweiterten The Growlers ihr musikalisches Spektrum um westafrikanische und elektronische Einflüsse und zeigten sich vielfältiger denn je.
Für ihr aktuellstes Werk arbeiteten The Growlers erneut mit bekannten Namen zusammen: Jonathan Rado von Foxygen und Shawn Everett, der in der Vergangenheit unter anderem gemeinsame Projekte mit The War On Drugs und Weezer realisierte, unterstützen die Band im Studio.
