Bill Blagg’s Magic in Motion melds the fascination of magic with the wonders of physical science to create an unbelievable educational experience! In this highly visual, interactive show, students will be on the edge of their seats as they explore how science creates magic right before their very eyes! Their jaws will drop in amazement as ordinary objects come to life, while others defy gravity with a simple clap of the hands and so much more! Students will learn first-hand how to create illusions using core scientific principles such as force, energy, friction, motion and more.  Together with Bill they will apply these principles in a variety of magical experiments that will bend the laws of science and create the impossible!  Science and magic will collide as students instantly become stronger than their teachers, stop moving objects with their minds and even make a teacher’s cell phone invisibly travel through time!  You have to see it to believe it! Magic in Motion is a magic filled, educational experience that is designed to inspire students to investigate how physical science can create magic while also playing an important role in their daily lives! Orizomegami Art Class

Expand your creativity with an Orizomegami Art Class on Nov. 23 at Poppies Art and Gifts. The one-hour class will start at 11 a.m. at 323 E. Matilija St., Ojai. Artist Holly Woolson will teach the Japanese art of making folded, dyed paper. Use the decorative paper in banners, gift wrap, collages, or mixed media pieces. Cost is $29 per person and includes instructions, demo, and an art bag with materials to make 10 pieces. The class will be held outside with safe distancing. Safety protocol for Ojai businesses is followed and masks are required. Space is limited. Sign up at Poppies or online at poppiesartandgifts.indiemade.com. Poppies Art and Gifts features original art, photographs, jewelry, and other items by local artists.
